The Client: Inventive Leisure
Inventive Leisure is a specialist bar operator trading through 63 venues in the UK under the name Revolution. Revolution offer vodka-based drinks in boutique style bars, the majority of which also sell quality food. The environment is party chic, with an emphasis on premium branded product, quality service & a party atmosphere.
The Brief
Twice a year Inventive Leisure launches a new food menu and rewards loyal customers with a free lunch for two. Our challenge was to orchestrate the give-away within a seven-day window, whilst allowing the venues to manage an individually-named pre-booking reservation system.
The Approach
Using SMS with a free-to-user short code we broadcast a text back mechanic to all 63 venues' databases that fed respondent's details directly through to the venues' internal booking system. This was done between 9.00 & 9.30am each day for one week; collecting booking levels from the managers each evening to ensure that no customer was let down due to over capacity.
In total over 200 individual broadcasts were carried out, each including its own keyword.
The Results
51,000 SMS broadcasts resulted in 6000 free meals given away. Takings went up 12% with like for like food sales up by 20% in the same period from the previous year. Delighted customers received excellent service both in the venues and via the marketing mechanic, all of which was great news for Revolution's on-going reputation.
